Milestone...

David J has been so close to rolling over from his back to his front so I thought we would try it the other way and sure enough...over he went!! His 'big' head serves another purpose-acting as the momentum. Dave and I were both there to witness this feat. This morning I captured it on my phone. My pride is very evident in the video :)

Photo Shoots Galore

David is growing so fast. It's just unbelievable that he is almost 4 months old! I swear every day he is doing something new. He almost rolled over while reaching for his nuk. I think it may happen very soon. On Easter Sunday he giggled for the first time. Dave was playing Peek-A-Boo with the diaper. He then giggled for me the next day. I kept saying "you pooped your pants" and he giggled and I cried. It was the most precious little noise I've ever heard.

I had to work on Easter Sunday so Dave spent the holiday with the Pritchard Family. He also found some time to do a little photo shoot with David J in our rocking chair. I think Dave has a hidden talent. These are a few of my favorites. He looks like such a big boy.

My Mom came to visit this week, unfortunately only for 2 days. We decided to have our own photo session on the kitchen table. David was a little big for the basket, so we decided to go with tummy poses instead. David also had his 3 month (just snuck it in there) professional photos. He did such a good job. Only after an hour and a half did he get cranky.

We also received a photo collage of his eyes, nose, fingers, toes, and tush...So adorable. If we ever get a scanner that works I will post it. It was very difficult to narrow down the photos. I'm glad my mom was there to help or I would have walked out of the store with an arm full of photos and an empty wallet. "I can't delete any of these pictures. He's my kid-they're all cute!"

You promised

This is what happens when your child poops and there is more poo by his elbows then there is in his diaper--ugh! You never really get used to this, but you do find better ways to deal. This morning as I was dressing him I asked that he not have a 'blowout'. For whatever reason it seems to always occur in this outfit (see below). Kids! (I did rinse out the sink first).

I love that it looks like he is opening his arms for a hug. Of course, he got one!

David has a friend. Insert Ahhh. I promise I did not set this up. He is seriously just that cute :)

April already?

Piano Man: David enjoys his little jumper/activity center. According to the box it's meant for 4 month olds, but I thought I would give it a shot. His feet just barely touch the ground, but otherwise he does just fine. He likes the piano a lot. Each button (or key) plays a different melody. I was so proud of him when he pushed the button all by himself-accidental or not-I was beaming.
Check out those cute 'chubby' legs kicking away.

Daddy is concerned about David's ears. They do stick out a tad....so I thought I would add the headband-just for kicks. I love his little yoda ears, but if he hates them when he's 15 then we'll discuss our options. He looks like he belongs in an 80's pop video.

3 months old

David currently weighs 12 lbs 6 oz and is about 24 inches long. His head circumference is at about 50%! Maybe he will luck out and get my little head :)

Here he is practicing sitting up. With a little help from the pillows he does a good job of holding himself up.

David slept through the night (took a picture for documentation), on Sunday, after my first day of work. Great timing!! And last night he slept for 8 hours too! Yippee! I think I like this pattern. He is such a great baby.

David, with Crystal, at daycare for the first time. He really seems to like it a lot. The girls at the daycare said "babies aren't supposed to smile this much". Such a happy little guy. Surprisingly, I didn't cry when I dropped him off. I think I got all my tears out the week before. It was quite depressing knowing I had to go back to work and leave David especially after 12 weeks off. However, he did wonderful with Dave on Sunday and awesome at daycare. It really makes it easy going back to work (even if only for 3 days/week) knowing that he is doing so well. I think Dave will really 'blossom' as a new dad having David all to himself for a full day and not having me to rely on. I didn't receive any panicked phone calls :)

Dave's secret dream of owning a minivan has been fulfilled. I myself said I would NEVER drive a minivan. However, now that we have one, I love it. Sometimes bigger is better ;) We bought it from my aunt and uncle who decided to buy a new one. We were desperately in need of a new vehicle. This offer just came about at a very convenient time. We might not have otherwise bought a van, but so far it has made things much easier for us. You practically had to do yoga poses just to get David and his car seat into and out of the backseat of our little cars. I think it will also satisfy Dave's need for a vehicle that allows him to transport big items from Home Depot.

However, I do need to practice my parallel parking.

March: Weeks 10-12

Daddy and David chillin' on the couch...you can't see it but Lil' David has a huge grin on his face.

Bath time...he's almost getting too big for his bath mat.

David loves to suck on his hand. It's usually the knuckle but sometimes its just a finger. If it's any finger other than the thumb he has a tendency to make himself gag a bit.

Vitamin time. He loves it! When he sees me shake the bottle and say "time for your vitamins" he will get really excited and all smiles.

Toy overload. Daddy thought the Velcro straps were for David's wrists! :) For those of you that don't know-they are supposed to hang from the car seat handle, play gym, etc.

My sister's dog Lex loves David, but I think she liked his toys more.

Gma Kelly helping while David gets his first taste of some rice cereal. He surprisingly eats quite well from a spoon.

Uncle Dustin giving some love.

It was almost 70 degrees this day so we just had to get outside. David didn't last long-he fell asleep on his first stroller ride.

St. Patrick's Day...wearing green together. Notice he just spit up-shirt is soaked!

Tube of dirty diapers...so much for being green ;)

David in his play gym. He loves the musical bee. He can really give that thing a good whack!
